How this Amazon FBA calculator works
Selling on Amazon.co.uk through FBA, your estimated profit is what’s left after the modelled Amazon charges plus your own costs. This tool uses published UK rates, but does not include every fee or VAT scheme. Read the full UK FBA fee guide and worked example, then verify your exact ASIN with Amazon before buying.
1. Referral fee
Amazon takes a referral fee on the total (VAT-inclusive) sale price of every item. Most categories are 15%, with a minimum referral fee of £0.25 per item. Some categories use tiered or different rates — for example Clothing & Accessories (5% up to £15, 10% £15–£20, 15% above), Baby and Beauty/Health (8% up to £10, otherwise 15%) and Automotive (15% up to £45, 9% above).
2. FBA fulfilment fee
A flat per-unit fee based on your item’s size tier and weight. Parcels and oversize items are charged on the greater of the actual weight or the dimensional weight, calculated as length × width × height (cm) ÷ 5000. Envelopes and Low-Price FBA use the actual weight only. Since 17 April 2026, Amazon adds a 1.5% fuel & logistics surcharge on top of the fulfilment fee in the UK — this calculator includes it.
3. VAT
For standard-rated goods under normal VAT accounting, a registered seller excludes output VAT from revenue and may reclaim eligible VAT on fees and stock. Input VAT on stock is not automatically reclaimable: keep the full gross purchase cost unless you have a valid VAT invoice for a standard-rated purchase and select the separate stock-VAT option. This estimate does not model the Flat Rate Scheme, zero- or reduced-rated goods, partial exemption or the second-hand margin scheme. Check HMRC’s input-VAT evidence rules before claiming.
Frequently asked questions
Are these the current 2026 Amazon UK fees?
Yes. Fulfilment fees come from Amazon’s “FBA Rate Card, effective 1 July 2026” (UK columns) and referral fees from Amazon UK’s published selling fees, plus the 1.5% UK fuel & logistics surcharge that began on 17 April 2026. Amazon can change fees, so for high-value decisions always confirm against Amazon’s own Revenue Calculator in Seller Central.
Does it include VAT?
Yes, for a standard-rated sale under normal VAT accounting. VAT on stock is deducted from the purchase cost only when you expressly confirm eligibility and a valid VAT invoice. The Flat Rate Scheme and other VAT rates are outside this estimator.
What’s the difference between ROI and margin?
ROI is profit divided by what the unit costs you (return on the cash you put in). Net margin is profit as a percentage of your net sale price. A product can have a healthy margin but poor ROI, or vice-versa.
What is Low-Price FBA?
Amazon offers reduced fulfilment fees for small, light, low-priced items. Since 5 January 2026 most categories qualify at £20 or under; Beauty, Health & Personal Care, Grocery, Books, Office, Kitchen, Business & Industrial supplies and Amazon Device Accessories stay at £10 or under. The calculator ticks the Low-Price FBA box from your price and category; untick it if your item doesn’t qualify.
How accurate is it?
The model is an estimate based on a published rate card, not a live Amazon quote. Seasonal fulfilment charges from 15 October 2026 to 14 January 2027, storage, returns, exact eligibility, VAT exceptions and fee changes are outside the estimate. Compare the exact ASIN against Amazon’s Revenue Calculator before buying stock.
