How this Amazon FBA calculator works
Selling on Amazon.co.uk through FBA, your profit is what’s left after two main Amazon charges plus your own costs. This tool calculates all of them using Amazon’s current published UK rates so you can decide whether a product is worth buying before you reach the till.
1. Referral fee
Amazon takes a referral fee on the total (VAT-inclusive) sale price of every item. Most categories are 15%, with a minimum referral fee of £0.25 per item. Some categories use tiered or different rates — for example Clothing & Accessories (5% up to £15, 10% £15–£20, 15% above), Baby and Beauty/Health (8% up to £10, otherwise 15%) and Automotive (15% up to £45, 9% above).
2. FBA fulfilment fee
A flat per-unit fee based on your item’s size tier and weight. Parcels and oversize items are charged on the greater of the actual weight or the dimensional weight, calculated as length × width × height (cm) ÷ 5000. Envelopes and Low-Price FBA use the actual weight only. Since 17 April 2026, Amazon adds a 1.5% fuel & logistics surcharge on top of the fulfilment fee in the UK — this calculator includes it.
3. VAT
If you’re VAT registered, the sale price you charge includes 20% output VAT you must pass to HMRC, and you can reclaim the VAT Amazon charges on its fees (and input VAT on eligible stock). If you’re not VAT registered, you keep the full sale price but the 20% VAT Amazon charges on its fees is a real cost to you. Toggle “I am VAT registered” to switch between the two.
Frequently asked questions
Are these the current 2026 Amazon UK fees?
Yes. Fulfilment and referral figures come from Amazon’s “Rate Card — Europe Fees, effective 1 February 2026” (UK columns), plus the 1.5% UK fuel & logistics surcharge that began on 17 April 2026. Amazon can change fees, so for high-value decisions always confirm against Amazon’s own Revenue Calculator in Seller Central.
Does it include VAT?
Yes — use the “I am VAT registered” toggle. When on, output VAT is removed from the sale and VAT on Amazon’s fees is treated as reclaimable. When off, you keep the full sale price but pay 20% VAT on Amazon’s fees.
What’s the difference between ROI and margin?
ROI is profit divided by what the unit costs you (return on the cash you put in). Net margin is profit as a percentage of your net sale price. A product can have a healthy margin but poor ROI, or vice-versa.
What is Low-Price FBA?
Amazon offers reduced fulfilment fees for small, light, low-priced items — generally those priced £20 or under (£10 or under in some categories such as Beauty, Health, Grocery, Books and Office). Tick the Low-Price FBA box if your item qualifies.
How accurate is it?
The fee tables are taken directly from Amazon’s published rate card and the maths is unit-tested. The main variables outside our control are your exact category referral rate and Amazon’s periodic fee updates — that’s why we show a full breakdown and link to Amazon’s calculator for final confirmation.
